The list of the scholarships underwritten by our donors is below. The automated application system lets you apply for scholarships that are open at the time. 


Aaron Bernard Murray and Fay Tyler Murray Education Encouragement Award

Award: one-time award of $750

Eligibility:

  • Must be a senior of Baton Rouge Magnet High School and have been nominated by a teacher or school administrator

  • Must be enrolling full-time into an accredited university or college


Boudreaux Family Scholarship

Opens For Applications: March 6
Closes for Applications: April 8

Award: $2,000 per semester for two consecutive semesters, for a total of $4,000.

Eligibility: 

  • Must be a senior of Zachary High School in Zachary, Louisiana

  • Must be enrolling full-time into an accredited university or college


Brent P. Poor Memorial Scholarship

Opens for Applications: December 1
Closes for Applications: February 22

Award: $1,000 per semester for 8 consecutive semesters, for a total of $8,000.

Eligibility:

  • Must be the child of a widow/widower who has never remarried

  • Must be enrolling/enrolled as a full-time college student in Louisiana or Texas


Claude L. Cockerham III Charitable Scholarship

Opens for Applications: December 1
Closes for Applications: February 15

Award: one-time award of $500.

Eligibility: 

  • Must be graduating from East Ascension High School in Gonzales, Louisiana

  • Must be pursuing a college education in criminal justice or plan to enlist in the United States Armed Forces

  • Minimum cumulative GPA requirement: 3.0

  • Must have participated in high school ROTC

  • Must be at least 17 years old


The Associated Grocers GMRA Scholarship

Opens for Applications: December 1
Closes for Applications: June 15

Award: The scholarship is awarded for a period of eight semesters (fall and spring only) for a maximum award value of $13,000. The first two semesters are awarded $500 each, the second two will be $1,500 each, the third two will be $2,000 each, and the final two semesters will be $2,500 each. The applicant must continue to meet all criteria requirements each semester for continuation of the scholarship.

Eligibility: 

  • Must be employed by an Associated Grocers grocery store.

  • Must be enrolled or plan to enroll at an accredited university or college.


The ADMAX GMRA Scholarship

Opens for Applications: December 1
Closes for Applications: June 15

Award: The scholarship is awarded for a period of eight semesters (fall and spring only) for a maximum award value of $13,000. The first two semesters are awarded $500 each, the second two will be $1,500 each, the third two will be $2,000 each, and the final two semesters will be $2,500 each. The applicant must continue to meet all criteria requirements each semester for continuation of the scholarship. 

Eligibility: 

  • Must be employed by an ADMAX grocery store.

  • Must be enrolled or plan to enroll at an accredited university or college.


Harriet Babin Miller Scholarship

Award: one-time award of $500.

Eligibility: 

  • Must be a senior from Dutchtown High School in Geismar, Louisiana

  • Must be enrolling full-time into an accredited university or college


HOPE In Action Scholarship

Opens for Applications: December 1

Closes for Applications: March 15

Eligibility:

  • Louisiana students in Louisiana's 5th Congressional District and who have lost a parent or parents to COVID-19


Justin Westbrook Memorial Scholarship

Opens for Applications: December 1
Closes for Applications: February 15

Award: one-time award of $500.

Eligibility:

  • Must be the child of a St. George Fire Department firefighter

  • Must be enrolling in or currently attending an accredited college or university as a full-time student


The Jolie Berry Memorial Scholarship

Opens for Applications: December 1
Closes for Applications: February 15

Award: one-time award of $5,000.

Eligibility:

  • Must be an active member in good standing of the Phi Gamma Chapter of Chi Omega Fraternity

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at Louisiana State University


Lori and Richard Pellerin Scholarship

Closes for Applications:
February 15

Award: one-time award of $2,500.

Eligibility: 

  • Must be related to an employee of Century Rehabilitation (Baton Rouge, LA) or one of its affiliates

  • Applicants must be in their final year of study for an Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Physical Therapy Assistant, or Occupational Therapy Assistant degree program

  • Minimum cumulative GPA requirement: 3.0

  • U.S. citizen


Madere-Jones Scholarship

Award: $1,500 per semester for eight consecutive semesters for a total of $12,000

Eligibility:

  • Must be graduating from a high school in Livingston Parish, Louisiana

  • Must be enrolling full-time into an accredited university or college


Paul F. Brown Scholarship

Open for Applications: December 1
Closes for Applications: March 15

Award: $1,500 per semester for two semesters

Eligibility:

  • Must be an incoming full-time freshman at the Louisiana State University School of Music

  • Minimum cumulative GPA requirement: 3.0

  • Resident of Louisiana


Orbia Empower Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Must be a resident of East Baton Rouge, Ascension, or Iberville Parishes


Roger J. Clouatre Memorial Scholarship

Open for Applications: December 1
Closes for Applications: February 15

Award: $500 one-time award

Eligibility: 

  • Must be graduating from a public high school in Ascension Parish, Louisiana

  • Must be enrolling full-time into an accredited university or college

  • Minimum cumulative GPA requirement: 3.0

  • Must demonstrate leadership qualities and have shown initiative in school or the community


Ruby J. Darensbourg-Cook Memorial Scholarship

Open for Applications: May 1
Closes for Applications: September 30

Award: $750 per semester for two semesters

Eligibility:

  • Must have obtained at least half of the required credit hours to complete a Practitioner Teacher Alternate Certification program approved by the Louisiana Department of Education

  • Must be seeking certification in either Elementary of Early Childhood Education


Stephen W. Cavanaugh Scholarship

Award: $1,000 per semester for eight consecutive semesters for a total of $8,000

Eligibility:

  • Must be studying an insurance-related field as a full-time student at an accredited university, college, or community college in Louisiana


The David and Jeannie Price Scholarship

Spring Semester:

Award: one-time $3,000 award

Eligibility:

  • Must be a full-time undergraduate junior or senior of Louisiana State University’s E.J. Ourso College of Business or the University of Missouri’s Trulaske College of Business

  • Minimum cumulative college GPA requirement: 3.5


The Three C’s Foundation Fund

Closes for Applications: Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Award: one-time $1,500 award

Eligibility: 

  • Must be working as a deckhand in South Louisiana seeking a United States Coast Guard Captain’s License.


Twiley, Marie and Bringier Barker Scholarship

Open for Applications: December 1
Closes for Applications: February 15

Award: one-time award of $2,000.

Eligibility:

  • Must be graduating from a public high school in one of Louisiana’s Florida Parishes (East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Livingston, St. Helena, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Washington or West Feliciana).

  • Minimum cumulative GPA requirement: 2.7


1999 Whatley Scholarship

Open for Applications: December 1
Closes for Applications: March 15

Award: $1,000 per semester for eight consecutive semesters, with an additional $2,000 available for a national or international study-abroad semester.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a graduating senior at Baton Rouge Magnet High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the time of application

  • Minimum cumulative GPA requirement: 3.3

  • Minimum ACT Score: 26 (or minimum SAT score of 1240)

  • Must be enrolling full-time into an accredited university or college
