STEPHEN W. CAVANAUGH SCHOLARSHIP

HISTORY

This scholarship was established in January 2007 by the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation (LWCC) to honor the memory of Mr. Stephen W. Cavanaugh. Mr. Cavanaugh served as the President and CEO of LWCC until 2006. He was an extraordinary leader who made lasting contributions to the insurance industry in Louisiana. He is succeeded by Kristin W. Wall, who has served as President and CEO since Mr. Cavanaugh’s departure.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Must be studying an insurance-related field as a full-time student at an accredited university, college, or community college in Louisiana

AWARD

The award is a four-year scholarship, payable $1,000 per semester for eight consecutive semesters, for a total award of $8,000

  • Essay of 250–500 words that explains why the applicant is pursuing a career in the insurance industry
