KAREN E. DOMINGUE-MAILLET AND SOLVAY/ECO SERVICES SCHOLARSHIP

HISTORY
This scholarship was established by Solvay/Eco Services, formally known as Rhodia, and the Domingue Family to honor Karen E. Domingue-Maillet’s life and work. The scholarship advisory committee includes members of the Solvay/Eco Services Community Advisory Panel (CAP), a group of local community members in the Scotlandville area. This group meets with Solvay/Eco Services staff monthly to discuss issues of mutual concern and to give advice/feedback.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Must be graduating from one of the following Baton Rouge high schools: Baker, Glen Oaks, Istrouma, or Scotlandville

  • Must be enrolling full-time into an accredited university or college

  • Must rank in upper 50% of senior class

  • Must demonstrate a need for financial assistance

  • East Baton Rouge Parish resident

  • U.S. citizen


AWARD
The award is $1,000 per semester (fall and spring only) for eight consecutive semesters. After the first semester, an additional $250 per semester will be awarded to recipients who maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. Qualified applicants will receive an additional $250 upon completion of the final semester, making the scholarship a maximum award of $10,000.
